Naples Boy Donates $1,000 to Help Homeless Veterans

Eight-year-old Jacob Vivirito presented the Canandaigua VA Medical Center with a check for $1,006. The money will go toward the VA’s programs for homeless veterans.

An eight year old Naples boy named Jacob Vivirito recently donated a check for $1,006.00 to the Canandaigua VA Medical Center that will go toward helping homeless veterans.

The youngster began raising the money by playing his guitar outside of his home on Eelpot Road in Naples and collecting money from passersby. Once people discovered what he was raising money for many decided to help out and donated money toward his cause.

While still only a third grader at Naples Central, Jacob says that he was inspired to do something for the cause when he saw a homeless veteran while he was out with his mother, Stacy Vivirito, in Canandaigua. Jacob says that he also has members of his own family that are veterans, and he wouldn’t want to see them doing without, either.

After word got out about the 8 year old’s campaign, the local Naples James R. Moore VFW Memorial Post 8726 presented Jacob with the Random Acts of Patriotism Award.

Great job Jacob! Keep up the good work!
